Experience Rwanda

Rwanda is lined with volcanoes to the west and filled with savannas to the east, so no trip to our country would be complete without actually getting out into the country and seeing its varied beauty.

Akagera National Park

Akagera is the place to visit if you want to see the Big 5 in Rwanda. With options for half-day and full-day game drives to see everything from hippos and impalas to lions and elephants, as well as sunset boat cruises and overnight accommodations from tented camping to gorgeous lodges where you’ll fall asleep to the sounds of the wild, Akagera is as full of options as it is of life.

Nyungwe Forest

In the southwest of Rwanda is Nyungwe Forest, a mountainous rainforest that Rwanda shares with Burundi. Nyungwe is filled with many species of chimpanzees and monkeys, along with hundreds of birds, and you’re likely to see your share on one of their many hikes, including the gorgeous canopy walk.

Volcanoes National Park

Located in the Virunga Mountains, Volcanoes National Park is filled with high-altitude forests and the iconic mountain gorillas. Come track these gorillas for yourself and share a moment with one of their beautiful, awe-inspiring families. If you have extra time, hike to the crater lake at Mt. Bisoke or do an overnight trek to the top of Mt. Karisimbi, the highest point in Rwanda.

More Activities

With our experienced driver-guides, your journey around Rwanda is going to be incredible, so allow us to help plan an itinerary that takes you for a night, or two (or a week!) to visit national parks and lakes, and to take in as many of Rwanda’s famed thousand hills as you can while you’re here. Additionally, if visiting Uganda’s many beautiful forests and parks is in your plan, or to do gorilla tracking, we can help book that as well. Just inquire below!

Lake Kivu

One of the most iconic views in Rwanda is of Lake Kivu, the massive freshwater lake to its west. It has beautiful beaches, relaxing resorts, and plenty of quiet as you decide whether you want to spend the day kayaking around one of the islands, or just enjoying the scenery. There are also nearby coffee farms, a perfect addition to your trip to the lake.
