October 28, 2010: "A Sensual Treat"

Heaven Restaurant and Bar is, well, simply Heaven. Its sensual combination of very tasteful foods and spectacular ambiance makes it an absolute must when in Kigali. Its menu is thoughtfully crafted, blending fresh local harvests into familiar, and some not so familiar, offerings. But best, those offerings are carefully and well prepared - the food at Heaven is really good. 

October 15, 2010: "What You Don't Know About Heaven"

Heaven is a well-known restaurant in Kigali and a good one. (I should know because I lived there for 2 ½ weeks and dined there a lot. Good food, great ambiance, lovely setting and Movie Night is not to be missed.) People were surprised when I told them I was staying at “HEAVEN”. I would assure them I was not sleeping under the tables; Heaven has 1 apartment and it was perfect for me. In central Kigali, it is very close to UTC and beloved Bourbon Coffee. The apartment was spacious and clean with a very comfortable king size bed. Most importantly, Heaven became to feel like home for me thanks to the wonderful staff. 

December 29, 2009: "beautiful restaurant with amazing food"

this restaurant is very special and physically beautiful -we went there for dinner many nights while we were in kigali for 2 weeks and were never dissapointed-they probably have the best juicy hamburger with homemade buns and fries,delicious quacamole with homemade chips,delicious specials such as tilapi with passion fruit sauce,homemade ice creams,bread puddings,the list goes on- we went on a saturday night and were able to see a great movie a.s well-we went to plenty of other places in kigali and the food and service was very much of a dissapointment-you will love it here

Nov 9, 2009: "Best restaurant in Rwanda"

I just got back from Kigali and Heaven was far and away the best meal of the trip. The food was excellent, the drinks with great, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the setting is ideal. Its a beautiful terrace overlooking the city, it couldn't be any better than that.

August 4, 2009: "The best restaurant in Africa!"

Every time I'm in Rwanda I arrange my schedule to ensure that I have a chance to eat at Heaven as often as possible. It's by far the best restaurant I have ever visited anywhere in Africa (from West Africa to East and Southern Africa - bar none the best!). It's the highlight of every trip to Rwanda for me. The outdoor ambiance is spectacular, the food is exquisite and the service is gentile. I have lived in Manhattan and Chicago and traveled most of the major cities of Europe, and I can honestly say that Heaven is in my top 5 favorite restaurants anywhere in the world! If you do nothing else while in Kigali, you MUST go to Heaven. It's accurately named.

Review of Heaven in SN Brussels Inflight Magazine (June - August 2008):

Heaven Cafe in Kiyovu opened in May. Its theme is 'Made in Rwanda' and everything from the paintings on the wall to the ingredients of the dishes and the placemats you dine on is sourced from within the country. Under the guidance of two restaurateurs from New York, it aims to be the best restaurant in Rwanda, and its international cuisine is sure to please.
