December 29, 2009: "beautiful restaurant with amazing food"

this restaurant is very special and physically beautiful -we went there for dinner many nights while we were in kigali for 2 weeks and were never dissapointed-they probably have the best juicy hamburger with homemade buns and fries,delicious quacamole with homemade chips,delicious specials such as tilapi with passion fruit sauce,homemade ice creams,bread puddings,the list goes on- we went on a saturday night and were able to see a great movie a.s well-we went to plenty of other places in kigali and the food and service was very much of a dissapointment-you will love it here

Nov 9, 2009: "Best restaurant in Rwanda"

I just got back from Kigali and Heaven was far and away the best meal of the trip. The food was excellent, the drinks with great, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the setting is ideal. Its a beautiful terrace overlooking the city, it couldn't be any better than that.

August 7, 2009: "Delicious brunch"

I recently visited Heaven restaurant in Kigali and tried the brunch buffet. Hands down the best brunch in Kigali, with delicious french toast and maple syrup, fruit salad, breakfast wraps, and countless other selections. The bagels are also the best I've had in Kigali (where bagels are very hard to come by.) The service is excellent, the outdoor seating area has a wonderful ambience, and the view of Kigali through the tree-tops is magical. I highly recommend Heaven's brunch. I've tried most of the other brunch/lunch spots in the city, so I can say with some certainty that this is the best American-style brunch in Rwanda.

August 4, 2009: "The best restaurant in Africa!"

Every time I'm in Rwanda I arrange my schedule to ensure that I have a chance to eat at Heaven as often as possible. It's by far the best restaurant I have ever visited anywhere in Africa (from West Africa to East and Southern Africa - bar none the best!). It's the highlight of every trip to Rwanda for me. The outdoor ambiance is spectacular, the food is exquisite and the service is gentile. I have lived in Manhattan and Chicago and traveled most of the major cities of Europe, and I can honestly say that Heaven is in my top 5 favorite restaurants anywhere in the world! If you do nothing else while in Kigali, you MUST go to Heaven. It's accurately named.

Heaven Cafe in Kiyovu opened in May. Its theme is 'Made in Rwanda' and everything from the paintings on the wall to the ingredients of the dishes and the placemats you dine on is sourced from within the country. Under the guidance of two restaurateurs from New York, it aims to be the best restaurant in Rwanda, and its international cuisine is sure to please.

Literally a slice of heaven, this restaurant offers the best service and cooking in all of Kigali. The hamburger and chicken dishes melt in your mouth. For an appetizer, give the eggplant or pumpkin samosas a try -- you won't regret it! You can also feel good about where your money is going when you frequent Heaven. The owner has made a point of hiring orphans and vulnerable young men and women to serve, and all are treated with respect and fair pay, which is uncharacteristic of other restaurants in Rwanda. Be sure to add Heaven to your "to eat list" in Kigali!
